Entschuldigt, daß ich so lange nichts hören liess. Ich bin ja kein Fan davon, hier im Blog Werbung für meinen Shop zu machen, ich hab glücklicherweise auch so genug zu tun...
Besonders schön sind natürlich die Tage, an denen man einige Sachen auf einmal fertig bekommt, so hatte ich neulich das Vergnügen, 4 Handytäschchen und eine bestellte Flötentasche zur Post bringen zu können.

Sorry for being so late with a new post. I'm not happy with making pormotion for my shop in the blog and since I'm busy enough without making any promotion, there are not so much other things to tell about...
I love the days, when I finish many things at one time. Recent I had this lucky day, where I had to bring four cellphone cases and this special order of a flute case to the post.

Ikea für den Kindergarten Ikea for the kindergarten

Heute habe ich endlich diese Bezüge für den Kindergarten von Leopld fertig gemacht. Eigentlich war es nicht so viel Arbeit, aber ich habe es immer wieder vor mir her geschoben-bin ich froh, daß ich sie morgen abgeben kann! Die Kombination der Stoffe-die fast alle bei mir rumlagen-gefällt mir jetzt sehr gut-sieht richtig skandinavisch aus!

At last I finished today these cushion covers for Leos kindergarten. Actually it didn't afford that much working time, but I put it off for a long time-I'm glad to give it to the kindergarten tomorrow. I love the fabric combination-almost all of them of my stash-looks scandinavian right now!

business as usual

Zuerst mal: Die Tasche ist echt super, ich hab schon ein paar Stoffe rausgesucht und werde sie in mein kleines "Shop-Programm" aufnehmen.

Mein Dawanda-Shop läuft ja recht gut, jetzt im September war es erstmals so viel, daß ich mich manchmal schon stressen musste, um hinterher zu kommen. (Nicht alles, was man bei mir kaufen kann, ist vorrätig, einige Sachen muss ich neu nähen). Nun ja, es zwingt mich ja keiner-mal sehen wie es weiter geht.

Ich ziere meine Täschchen immer mit einem bunten, selbstgestempelten Anhänger, die hab ich mal auf Vorrat angefertigt, das Bäumchen ist neu auch die Brieftaube find ich sehr gelungen.
Ausserdem musste Nachschub bei den Moo-Cards geordert werden. Und Buttons gibt es jetzt, noch habe ich sie nicht selbstgemacht, aber ich bin infiziert...

Ich habe jetzt auch mal probiert, mit den Stempeln auf Stoff zu drucken und finde das Ergebnis ganz schön. Das grobe Leinen ist natürlich nicht so super geeignet, andererseits finde ich grade diesen Effekt auf dem groben Material toll. Das Täschchen habe ich als Geschenk gemacht, es ist superniedlich finde ich.


First of all: The tote is great, I will sew more of it for my little shop.
My shop is working well now, in september sometimes it was a little stress for me. Since not all of my products available are stocked, I have to sew some of them new after purchase. Well, I'm not forced to do this job, so let's see what's going on...

All of my pouches get a little coloured, stamped tag. Lately I made some of them ahead. The little tree is a new stamp, as well as the pigeon, love those two!
And I got more moo-cards, too. You can see, I have badges now. These are not yet selfmade, but I'm grabbed...

Recently I tested the stamps on fabric and it turned out well, for my opinion. Although the linen is not the best material to stamp on I like this special natural look.
This little pouch is for a present, it's really neat, I think.

Stadt-Stofftasche City-Tote

Nerven Euch die Stofftaschen auch so? Also natürlich nicht das Ding an sich, eine Tasche aus Stoff als Ersatz für Plastiktüten-super. Sie halten was aus, sind im Nicht-Gebrauchsfall schnell irgendwo reingestopft, wenn sie dreckig sind kommen sie in die Waschmaschine. Schon toll.
Aber schön find ich sie nicht, oder selten.
Deswegen habe ich mir heute eine Stadt-Stofftasche genäht. Aus schön buntem Ikeastoff, der zudem auch noch fast dick ist, genau richtig um ein paar Kilo Äpfel auszuhalten.
Wenn sie sich bewährt, bekommt sie Schwestern für Dawanda...

In Germany we have simple fabric-bags as alternative to plastic bags, they are cheap, you can use them again and again, wash them in the machine, they are small when not used, so they are very practibable-but not very pretty for my opinion. Ok, maybe some of them.
So I decided to sew a city-fabric-bag (in german "city" is "Stadt" and "instead of" is "statt" which sounds similar) for me, the fabric is from Ikea, just a little more heavy, so hopefully it can carrie some pounds of apples.
I'll test it, maybe it gets sisters for Dawanda...

Matrioschka-Hilfe! und neue Stoffschätze Matrioshka-Help! and new fabrictreasures

Auch mich lässt das Matrioschkafieber nicht -aus hier ist meine Version- weil ich leider nicht sticken kann, muss ich halt applizieren, das Gesicht sticke ich dann von Hand.
Jetzt helft mir mal, das soll nur der Prototyp sein, aber was mach ich damit? Zuerst dachte ich, ich näh noch einen bunten Rahmen drum und mache einen Kissenbezug daraus. Oder doch so ne einfache Einkaufstasche, gar nicht größer als das Stück selbst. Hmm? Nur her mit den Ideen!

Und dann kam heute wieder eines von den Päckchen, wo man jeden Stoff nur verliebt angucken und streicheln mag, aaahhh!!! Der Pinkrote wird ein Oberteil, die anderen wandern in unterschiedlichen Taschenformen in den Shop. Ich lieeebbbeee Täschchen!!

Me too caught the matrioshka-fever, this is my (unfinished) version, since I'm not able to machine-stitch yet, I have to appliqué, only the face will be hand-stitched.
Now I need a little help, what will this prototype gonna be? First of all, I thaught about a pillow-case, I could make a coloured border around the linen. Or a shopping bag, simple and small. Some Ideas?

And today arrived one of these fabric-packs, which you are so amazed of, that you can't stop hugging them, ooohhh! The pink-red one will be a top for me, the others gonna be pouches and bags for my shop. Oh, I loooove pouches!!

Kindergartentasche - "Luisa" - kindergartenbag

Am Montag kommt mein Patenkind in den Kindergarten und da musste ich natürlich die Tasche stiften. Ist vielleicht etwas stylish für ein dreijähriges Mädchen, aber dafür ziemlich zeitlos!
Das Zusammensetzen dieser Messenger-Bag Taschen ist immer ein ziemliches Gefummel, eine Nahaufnahem der Innenansicht mag ich Euch nicht zeigen ;-) Aber auch hier ist dir umgedrehte Variante natürlich sehr fotogen!

Monday my godchild has her first kindergarten-day so I had to sew a bag for her. Maybe a bit cool for a three-year-old girl, but therefore very egeless.
I hate assembling those messenger bags, I wouldn't show you a close-up of the lining-side ;-).
But you can see, this bag looks very good wrong side out, too!

Ein Mädchenschatz in meiner Küche - a "girls treasure" in my kitchen

Dieses wunderbare Regal hab ich neulich bei Dawanda erstanden. Es liegt direkt im Blick, wenn man in die Küche kommt-wunderbar!
Der Shop heisst Mädchenschatz, Alexandra hat auch einen wunderschönen Blog.

Katzenrassel-Apfellampe - catrattle-applelamp

Schon seit einer Weile hab ich die Idee, eine Babyrassel in Form einer Katze zu machen. Das ist jetzt der erste Prototyp, Wuwu wollt sie gleich haben, aber eigentlich ist sie etwas zu groß.
Und das Gesicht muss ich wohl auch kleiner sticken. Dann mach ich mal die nächste!

Die Lampe habe ich für die Küche gemacht, es gibt fertige Sets zum Selbstbeziehen hier. Es ist zugegeben etwas fummelig, aber das Ergebnis mag ich sehr! Jetzt muss sie nur noch über dem Tisch hängen, mal sehen wie lange das dann dauert...

Some time ago I got the idea to make a babyrattle in form of a cat. This is the first prototype, Wuwu wanted to have it immediately. But it is a little to big, though. And I have to stitch the face a little smaller. Let's do the next then!

The Lampshade is made for the kitchen, I used a selfmaking set from here. It is a little work to do it, but I love the result! Now we have to hang it above the table, let's see how long this will take...

Klamotten - Clothes

Die Wünsche nach Klamotten habe ich mir schon zu Herzen genommen. Eigentlich ist es so, daß ich am liebsten sowas wie Jeans und T-Shirt trage, welche in einer Kleinstadt lebende Mutter von zwei Kleinkindern schafft es schon, sich jeden Tag in Schale zu schmeissen. Aber auch Alltagssachen nähe ich lieber selber, dann bin wenigstens ich Schuld, wenn es nicht passt und nicht der doofe Designer, der auch in Größe 42 von straffen Bäuchen und schmalen Hüften ausgeht. Insofern fand ich meine Werke eigentlich nicht so aussagekräftig um hier groß darüber zu berichten. Aber da wir in letzter Zeit auf mehreren Hochzeiten waren, musste ich auch mal was schickes haben, das sind also zwei Teile die ich gerne zeige: Die Bluse ist aus einem sehr edlen Leinen, den ich letztes Jahr in Paris erstanden habe. Der Schnitt ist aus einer der letzten Kniphefte.
Das Kleid ist auch aus einer Knip, die mit den Maxima-Outfits, verwendet habe ich einen Stoff aus der aktuellen Amy-Butler Kollektion und einen von KaffeFassett. Die Paspeln sind aus dem Leinen von der Bluse. Beide Teile sind super geworden, ich werde in Zukunft öfter aus der Knip nähen, die Sachen sind sehr gut in der Passform für mich!

My readers wished to see some sewn clothes from me, since I rather didn't tended to post about it yet. As a mother of two little children in a small town I'm not in mood to dress up very often. Normaly I wear something like jeans and shirt, selfsewn as well because when they are made by me it is my fault if they don't fit and not the silly designers, who don't cares about big hips or after-pregnacy-bellys in size 16. I didn't saw a reason to post about my everyday clothes, because they are rather common, I think.
But we were invited to some weddings lately and therefor I needed some suitable things.
I made this blouse, the pattern is from a Knip (dutch sewing amgazine). I purchased this beautiful linen last year in Paris.
And the dress is also from a Knip, it's made after a dress from princess Maxima. The fabrics are from the new Amy Butler collection and from Kaffe Fassett. The pipings are from the blouse-linen. I love these two, I will make more from Knip-magazines, they have a good passform for me.

Nordstrand

Wie fast jedes Jahr waren wir auch diesen Sommer 10 Tage auf Nordstrand, wo wir mit Freunden einige Konzerte geben. Diese Fahrt macht immer Riesenspaß und obwohl ich etwas Bammel wegen der Kinder hatte, war es auch diesmal (dank einer Super-Ersatz-Oma für die Zeit der Konzerte und Proben) wieder wunderschön und alles hat gut geklappt. Solche Reisen leben ja davon, daß man jedes Jahr dieselben Sachen macht, wir fahren jedes Jahr auf Pellworm, dort haben wir ein Konzert in der neuen Kirche.
Wir fahren jedes Jahr mit dem Fahrrad auf die Hamburger Hallig, von Nordstrand immerhin 20km, dort essen wir Salzwiesenlammfrikadellen, lecker....
Wir (und einige andere unserer Truppe auch) bleiben jedes Jahr einige Tage länger, diesmal haben wir dann eine Fahrt auf die Hallig Hooge gemacht, wunderschön! Dort wird man mit dem Pferdefuhrwerk herumgefahren, ausserdem ist auf den Halligen eine ganz eigene, urige Stimmung.
Und wir kaufen jedes Jahr in der Süderhafen-Töpferei ein, auf dem Foto die Beute von diesem Jahr. Es gibt noch eine Töpferei auf Nordstrand, wer in der Gegend ist sollte sich beide mal anschauen, es gibt ganz tolle Sachen!

Like almost every year we were 10 days on Nordstrand ("Northbeach", an isle in the north sea) this summer. We were performing some concerts with some friends, like every summer. It's big fun to do this, and although I woried a bit about my two sons it worked all well, we had a great "nanny" with us for the time of the concerts and rehearsals.
We have some rituals on this journey, as every year we were on Pellworm, the neighbour-isle, were we have a concert in the New Church.
We were on the "Hamburger Hallig" with the bycicles, it's about 13miles from Nordstrand. You can eat wonderful lamb-meatballs there, yummie...
We are always staying some days longer and this year we made a trip to the "Hallig Hooge" (Holm Hooge), were you will be driven by a horse-coach. It is a very special, quaint atmosphere on these holms (a holm is something like an isle, but without dikes, so it will be flooded when there is a spring-tide)
And as every year we went shopping in "suederhafen-toepferei", a traditional pottery on Nordstrand (there is another one on Nordstrand, when you are in the region, take a look!) On the photo our goods from this year.

Ein neues Quilt-Top! New Quilt-Top!

Endlich mal wieder was von mir! In letzter Zeit habe ich einiges für meine Shop genäht und ansonsten nur Klamotten. Komischerweise schreibe ich nicht gerne über Klamotten, ich lese zwar gerne in den anderen Blogs davon, aber meine eigenen ziehe ich an und wenn ich darüber bloggen könnte sind sie schon in der Wäsche oder so. Wollt ihr gerne mehr über meine selbstgenähte Kleidung lesen? Bin für Statements dankbar!

Hier aber endlich wieder was nach meinem Geschmack: Ein neuer Kinder-Quilt (bisher ist nur das Top fertig), ich habe diesen Zigzag-Quilt ein bisschen vergrössert. Der stand schon ewig auf meiner "Will-ich-unbedingt-Nähen" Liste, jetzt soll er vor dem Urlaub noch fertig werden.
Ich liebe das Muster, weil es so schön modern wirkt, was toll zu z.B. dem Zoostoff passt, der ja im Original auch verwendet wird. Den hellblauen mit den VW-Bussen drauf (Heather Ross, in pink ist er noch zu haben) habe ich mühsam ergattert in einem Shop, der ist nämlich ansonsten ausverkauft. Danke nochmal an Rebecca, das sie mir was abgegeben hat!!
Ich habe Fotos von allen Entstehungsschritten gemacht und werde für meine Version ein Tutorial einstellen, sobald ich dazu komme. Er ist ja auch noch nicht fertig. Die Originalanleitung ist etwas knapp gehalten, meine wird hoffentlich auch für Patchworkneulinge gut nachzuvollziehen sein!

Finally a new post! In the last days I sewed some things for my Dawandashop and some clothes. I wonder why I most time don't feel like posting about clothes, I like to read in other blogs about such things, but my own ones I wear and when I had the time to write a post, they are in the laundry basket or somewhere. But if you would like to read more about my sewn clothes I appreciate your feedback!

Here is again something I love to post about: A new quilt(top) for my sons. I made a bigger version of this Zigzag-Quilt. It was on my "Must-Sew-List" since I read the post in the purlbee. I love this modern look, especially because the fabrics like the "Zoo" do match this kind of pattern so well. The light-blue VW-Caravan fabric (Heather Ross) is totally sold out and I have to say a big, big thank you to Rebecca, who sold me some out of her stock!!!
I've taken photos in all work-steps, so I'm able to write a tutorial about my version of this quilt. Since the original-tutorial is some kind of short, I will try to be as detailed for a patchwork-newbie to get along with it, hopefully!!

Drei Sterne - Three Stars

Star Quilt Along: Week 6 + 7

Die nächsten zwei, einer wieder dunkel, der andere hell. Bei dem dunklen war ich mir lange unsicher, ob ich nicht doch in die Mitte einen anderen Stoff nehmen sollte. Aber original ist er dann halt nicht. Und die Wirkung ist so natürlich toll, nur halt dun kler als die anderen Sterne, naja.

The next two, also one a bit dark, the other light. I wondered for a while, making the dark one with another fabric in the middle. But it wouldn't be true to original then. And the effect with the two colours is great in this pattern, so now it is a bit darker than the others, never mind.

Pfirsich-Quilt fertig - Peach-Quilt finished

Jetzt ist der fertig! Auch mit der Maschine ist das Binding dann nochmal ein Stück Arbeit, ich habe erst geheftet und dann genäht, anschliessend müssen die Heftfäden natürlich wieder raus und die Stellen, die nicht gut geworden sind "repariert" werden (ich nähe auf der Oberseite direkt neben der Ansatznaht und kann natürlich nicht sehen, was auf der Unterseite passiert- das klappt nicht überall) Vielleicht mach ich es beim nächsten doch wieder von Hand, wird schöner und dauert nicht so viel länger.

Vielleicht hat die eine oder andere Lust, auch mal so einen Quilt zu nähen? Wie gesagt, es geht schnell-ich könnte noch einen nähen und ein Tutorial daraus machen. Babydecken braucht man doch immer mal wieder *grins* -zumindest als Geschenk. Gerade für echte Quilt-Einsteiger wäre das was. Jemand Interesse?

Now it is done! Even a machine-attached binding is work, I 've basted it and then sewed it on, afterwards the basting must be tucked apart and all the spots which didn't worked out must be repaired. (I stitch on the top in the ditch of the binding-seam, so I can't see whats happening on the back-that doesn't work every time). Maybe I'll do it by hand next time, looks better and is only some more time-consuming.

Maybe some of you think about doing such a quilt herself? It is fast done- so I could sew another and make a tutorial out of it. Everyone needs a babyquilt from time to time :)-maybe as a gift. This would be a good projekt for real quilting beginners. Anyone's interested?

Stempel - stamps

Das mit den Stempeln ist echt ne tolle Sache. Ich brauch zwar genau den richtigen Moment, zum Schnitzen muss man Lust haben , sonst wird es nix, es ist ja schon fummelig. Aber hier ein kleiner Schnappschuss, Matrioschka und Vögelchen, die lieben wir doch alle, oder? Bin schon dabei, eine Schwestermatrioschka zu entwerfen.

Stamp carving is fun, really! In fact I need the right moment, because carving is difficult and therfore you must be in the mood. But here a little snapshop, matrioshka and birdie, we do love them all, or not? Actually I'm working an the design for a sister-matrioshka.

Kamera heil wieder zurück - Camera back home, working

Gerade kam meine Kamera aus der Reparatur wieder! Nachdem auch die von meinem Mann gar nicht mehr ging, hab ich schon aus lauter Verzweiflung noch eine bei Ebay ersteigert. Dann haben wir wenigstens eine in Reserve, wenn mal wieder was ist.
Ohne ist schon echt unpraktisch, ich hab gemerkt, daß das für mich auch so eine Art Abschluß ist, über was fertiggestelltes dann einen Post zu schreiben. Ich hatte nämlich eher Lust, neue Sachen anzufangen als etwas zu beenden, posten hätte ich ja nicht können. Komische neue Angewohnheiten...

I just received my camera back from guarantee-repairing! Since my husband's wasn't working, too, my distress tended me to purchase one at ebay. So we will have one in reserve, when there are problems again.
Being without is absolutely annoying. I noticed, that it is a real conclusion for me, to post about finished crafts. Because I couldn't post something I was more tended to start something new than to end a unfinished projekt. Silly new habits...

Hier sind meine zwei neuen Sterne, auf den komplizierten habe ich mich sehr gefreut, ist etwas dunkel geworden. Der andere geht farblich mal eine ganz andere Richtung, auch interessant.
Here are two stars from the starquilt-along, I was thrilled to sew the complicated one from week five, now it's a bit dark. The other seems to shine in a different but interesting colour.



Vor drei Tagen hatte ich eben diesen Drang, jetzt unbedingt noch einen kleinen Quilt zu nähen. Ich wollte Stoffe wegschaffen, die mich nerven (ja, das gibts!) und dieses recht simple Muster endlich mal nähen, das gefällt mir wenn ich es sehe nämlich immer sehr gut. Voila, ein Irish Chain zum Anbeissen, sieht es nicht aus wie Pfirsichfruchtfleisch? Da ich selber keine Verwendung dafür habe, kommt er in meinen Shop. Viel Arbeit war es bisher übrigens nicht, jetzt muss das Binding noch festgenäht werden, wenn ich das mit der Maschine mache, wird das auch schnell gehen. Dann kommt der nächste...

Three days ago I totally wanted to sew a small quilt. I wanted to use up fabrics, which I can't see anymore (yes, things happen) and I love this simple pattern every time I see it and wanted to try it out. Here it is, yummie Irish chain, doesn't it look like peach pulp? It will be in my shop then, I don't need a babygirl-quilt...
Actually it wasn't much work, today I just have to attach the binding, I'll sew it with the machine so this will be done soon. Let's do the next then...

A Block a day...

Ach wie schön, es macht richtig Spaß! Ich halt mich mal zurück und mach nur einen Block am Tag, damit der Spaß noch eine Weile andauert (nur 13 Sterne, wenig, oder ;-))
Also bis jetzt hab ich drei, hab alle an die Wand gepinnt. Und die Kamera hab ich auch überlistet...

What a fun to do this! I must hold myself back and do only one star a day so it will last some time more (there are only 13 stars, thats not so much :-))
So they are three now, all pinned on the wall. And I could outfox the camera...

Star Quilt Along: Week 1

Da ist er, mein erster Block. Die Kamera spinnt immer noch, die Farben sind nicht ganz so schräg im Original, aber fast. Das Braun ist auch nicht so dunkel.
Irgendwie kann ich die Sachen immer nicht so machen, wie vorgegeben, ich habe das innere Quadrat nochmal geteilt, ich wollte unbedingt drei verschiedene Stoffe und den Hintergrundstoff kombinieren. Wenn ich das schaffe, werde ich die anderen Blocks auch immer aus "drei + braun" machen. Der rot-lila Punkte-Stoff ist wirklich ganz schön kräftig, aber im Original ist dieser Block ja auch in der Mitte! Mal sehen, wo meiner dann hinkommt.

Ich wollte nochmal alle "Nicht-Quilter" ermuntern: Mit dieser Anleitung kann man echt gut einsteigen!! Probiert doch mal den ersten Block, einer ist schnell gemacht und taugt zur Not als Kissenbezug oder so. Man braucht allerdings ein Inch-Lineal und einen Inch-Fuß bzw. man muss ausprobieren, wie man genau 1/4 inch abnäht, sonst passt am Ende nichts zusammen und das ist dann frustrierend. Aber ein Inch Lineal ist ja noch kein unerschwinglicher Luxus :-)

Here it is, my first block. The camera is still on the blink, the colours are not so crazy in original than in the photo, but almost. And the brown is not so darl.
Somehow I can't do the things as it is directed, I divided the inner square once more because I wanted to use three different prints and the background. I hope to manage keeping this "three and brown"at all the other blocks, too. the red-lilac dots are really bright in colour, but in the original quilt this block is the middle one! Let's see, where mine will be then.

I wanted to encourage again all quilting newbies to try a block or more with this tutorial. You can do it! If you make only one, you can also use it as pillowcase or so. You just need an inch-ruler and an inch-foot or you have to look, how you can sew exactly 1/4 inch to the edge. Otherwise it doesn't match and that's frustrating! But an inch-ruler is not that exorbitant luxury, I think :-)

Star Quilt Along: Stoffe-Fabrics

Jetzt habe ich endlich (fast) alle Stoffe zusammen. Einen sehr schönen braunen aus der Kona Cotton Serie, die Farbe heisst "sable", soll der Hintergrund werden. Der ist schon ziemlich dunkel, weswegen ich gestern wieder im Zweifel war, ob der Quilt insgesamt dann nicht zu viel dunkel wird. Fast hätte ich alles verworfen und neue Stoffe gesucht, aber jetzt habe ich beschlossen, die Sterne so zu machen, wie in den Anleitungen vorgesehen, beim Zusammensetzen der Blöcke werde ich dann aber nochmal überlegen, ich könnte ja die Setting Blocks anders machen, mal sehen.
Die drei großgepunkteten Stoffe sind von Kaffe Fassett, der großgeblümte ist aus Japan, hab ich bei Superbuzzy erstanden, ebenso die beiden kleingepunkteten, die beiden anderen sind aus der aktuellen Amy Butler Kollektion (habe ich schon erwähnt, daß mir die besonders gut gefällt? ok, sorry)
Now I've got (almost) all the required fabrics together. A beautiful brown Kona Cotton, colour "sable" will be the background. Since this is a really dark colour I woried about if the quilt is getting to dark with it. For one moment I seemed to mess up the whole fabric combination, but now I decided to sew the stars as directed and then I can think about it new, when they are finished. Maybe I make another way of assembling the blocks.
The three with the big dots are from Kaffe Fassett, the one with the big flowers is from Japan, also the two with the smaller dots, purchased at superbuzzy. The two remaining are from the new collection of Amy Butler (did I mention already that I adore this collection? Ok, sorry).

Four-on-the-Floor-Quilt

Eigentlich bin ich grade gar nicht untätig, aber hier geben leider alle Kameras gerade den Geist auf. Meine neue musste ich gerade einschicken und die von Philip macht jetzt auch Streifen, *seufz*.
Aber für einen Eindruck reicht es hoffentlich. Dies ist mein erster großer Quilt, der fertig geworden ist! Er soll für die Kinder zum Spielen sein.
Die Rückseite habe ich gestückelt, das fand ich immer so schön wenn ich es irgendwo gesehen habe. Und man kann ja ganz gut nicht so ganz allerliebste Stoffe wegschaffen...Als Füllung habe ich eine Ikea-Fleece-Decke genommen. Das ging sehr gut, die sind ja recht dünn, liess sich wunderbar mit der Maschine quilten. Die rote Umrandung habe ich etwas zu breit zugeschnitten, deswegen ist sie jetzt auf der Rückseite breiter. Sie ist von Hand angenäht, was mir Spass gemacht hat. Es hat zwar ein paar Stunden gedauert, sieht aber superschön aus und man kann es im Garten machen!!

In actual fact I'm not lazy at this time, but all the cameras in our house conked out lately. I had to send back my new camera some days ago, and now Philips camera produces stripes *sigh*. I hope you can get a first impression. This is my first "full-size" quilt which became ready! I've made it for my sons for to play. I've pieced the backing, I always loved it when I saw such a pieced backing. And you can use the not so well-loved fabrics up... For batting I took an ikea-fleece-plaid. They are thin enough, it worked well. I quilted with the machine. The red binding is a bit wider on the backside, because I cut it some to wide. I attached by hand, what was fun to do, even when it took some hours. But it looks wonderful and I could work in the garden!!

Radiergummistempel-Material eingetroffen! / Rubberstamp-carving material arrived!

Radiergummis schnitzen- ich hatte ja neulich schonmal darüber geschrieben. Hier ist das nicht so verbreitet wie in Amerika, wo es sogar spezielles Material dafür zu kaufen gibt-Radiergummiplatten in allen Größen und Stärken sowie spezielle Schnitzwerkzeuge! Es hat aber tatsächlich eine Weile gedauert, bis ich einen Shop gefunden habe, der auch international verschickt. Dafür waren die Sachen nach knapp ner Woche da. Jetzt habe ich 4 "kleinere" Platten und eine riesige, das sollte ne Weile reichen, bei der Größe, die ich normalerweise so schnitze...

Rubberstamp carving- I wrote about it last time. It is not very common here in Germany and so they don't sell special materials for it otherwise than in the US, where you can get special carving blocks and tools. Now I was very happy to find a shop in the US who ships international and today arrived some blocks and some tools- this will last for a while, I think!!

Kindergartentasche / Kindergarten-Bag

Auf links gedreht sieht sie irgendwie cooler aus...
Rechtzeitig zum Ende der 2 Wochen Eingewöhnungszeit ist sie fertig geworden. Ich habe diesen Schnitt etwas breiter gemacht, damit eine Brotdose reinpasst, aber ansonsten hab ich mich an die Anleitung gehalten. Lediglich die Trägerlänge hab ich nach Gefühl gemacht und die Nahtzugaben hab ich innen nochmal mit Schrägband eingefasst-wie sieht denn das sonst aus! ;-) Und eben eigentlich viel cooler, falschrum.

Just in time to the end of the two-week long accustomizing-time in kindergarten it is finished. I took this pattern and made it a bit wider for matching a lunch-box, besides this I kept on the instructions. Only the strap I cut intuitively and the seam allowances inside I edged with bias tape-what a sight would that be without! ;-) And now it looks even cooler wrong-side out.
